Creating an Account and Sign-in Methods in EVEDEX

EVEDEX is available as both a web platform and a mobile application. The available sign-in methods differ between them; however, the core principle remains the same: every EVEDEX account is associated with a specific wallet.

Some sign-in methods automatically create a wallet for you. Others allow you to connect or import an existing wallet.

The key rule: if the same wallet is used, the same EVEDEX account will be opened with the same balance, trading history, and settings. If a different wallet is used, a different account will be opened.

This is why the method you use to sign in does not always determine which account you access. What matters is which wallet was used to sign in.

Sign-in Methods on the Web Platform

The following sign-in methods are available on the EVEDEX web platform:

  • Sign in with Email;

  • Sign in with Google;

  • Sign in with Telegram;

  • Sign in with Apple ID;

  • Connect a wallet such as MetaMask, Rabby Wallet, and others;

  • Connect other external wallets via WalletConnect.

Sign in with Email

When you sign in with a new email address for the first time, the following are automatically created:

  • a new wallet;

  • a new EVEDEX account associated with that wallet.

Your Seed Phrase is not displayed during registration. The wallet is created automatically, and all required confirmations are handled automatically, so you do not need to install MetaMask or any other wallet application in advance.

When you sign in again using the same email address, the same account will be opened.

Later, you can export the automatically created wallet and obtain its Seed Phrase or Private Key. For more information, see the "How to Export an Automatically Created Wallet" section.

Sign in with Google

When you sign in with Google, the email address associated with your Google account is used.

If this email address has already been used to sign in to EVEDEX via Email, signing in with Google will open the same account.

For example:

In both cases, the same wallet will be used, and the same EVEDEX account will be opened.

If you sign in with Google using a different email address that has not previously been used on the platform, a new wallet and a new account will be created.

Sign in with Apple ID

When you sign in with Apple ID, EVEDEX uses the email address provided by Apple.

If Apple provides the same email address that was previously used to sign in via Email or Google, the same EVEDEX account will be opened.

If the Hide My Email feature is enabled when signing in, Apple provides a unique relay email address instead of your primary email address.

EVEDEX does not receive your primary email address and cannot associate it with the relay email address.

In this case, you must use the same Apple ID to access your account in the future. Signing in with your primary email address will not open this account and may result in a different account being opened.

Sign in with Telegram

When you sign in with Telegram for the first time, a separate wallet and a corresponding EVEDEX account are automatically created.

In this case, the key identifier is your Telegram ID, not your email address.

An email address that may be associated with your Telegram account or later added in your EVEDEX settings for notifications does not become a way to access this account.

To access the same account again via Telegram, you must use the same Telegram account.

If you sign in using a different Telegram account, a different wallet will be created, and a different EVEDEX account will be opened.

Connect an External Wallet

When you sign in using MetaMask, Rabby Wallet, WalletConnect, or another supported external wallet, EVEDEX does not create an additional built-in wallet.

Instead, the wallet you connect is used.

If this wallet has not previously been used with EVEDEX, a new account will be associated with it. If the wallet has already been used on the platform, the existing account will be opened.

For example, if you registered using Email and later connected a different MetaMask wallet with another address, a different account will be opened. The funds and trading history from your original account will not be displayed.

However, you can access your original account through MetaMask by first exporting the wallet that was automatically created when you signed in with Email, and then importing it into MetaMask.

Using a Hardware Wallet (Ledger, Trezor, and Others)

EVEDEX does not support direct connections to hardware wallets. However, you can use them through a compatible wallet application, such as MetaMask.

To do this:

  1. Connect your hardware wallet to your computer and unlock it.

  2. Open MetaMask and select Connect Hardware Wallet.

  3. Select your hardware wallet (for example, Ledger or Trezor) and confirm the connection.

  4. After the wallet is connected, open EVEDEX and select MetaMask as your sign-in method.

  5. Confirm the connection in MetaMask.

Once connected, EVEDEX will use your hardware wallet address to access your account.

Important: If this wallet has already been used with EVEDEX, the existing account will be opened. If the wallet is being connected for the first time, a new EVEDEX account will be created for it.

Sign-in Methods in the Mobile App

The following sign-in methods are available in the EVEDEX mobile app:

  • Sign in with Email;

  • Connect an External Wallet;

  • Create Wallet;

  • Import Wallet.

Sign in with Email

When you sign in with a new email address for the first time, the app automatically creates a wallet and an associated EVEDEX account.

Your Seed Phrase is not displayed, and all required transaction confirmations are handled automatically.

When you sign in again using the same email address, the same account will be opened.

Signing in with the same email address on both the web platform and the mobile app will always open the same account.

Connect an External Wallet

The WalletConnect feature allows you to use your existing cryptocurrency wallet.

If this wallet is already associated with an EVEDEX account, the app will open that account.
If the wallet has not previously been used on the platform, a new account will be associated with it.

The same external wallet will always open the same account, regardless of whether it is connected through the web platform or the mobile app.

  4. Once your hardware wallet is connected to MetaMask, open EVEDEX and select MetaMask as your sign-in method.

Create a New Wallet

The Create Wallet feature creates a new wallet directly within the mobile app.

Unlike signing in with Email, this method immediately provides you with a Seed Phrase, and you are solely responsible for keeping it safe.

Before displaying the Seed Phrase, the app asks you to acknowledge the following:

  • If I lose my Seed Phrase or share it with another person, my assets will be lost forever.

  • My Seed Phrase is stored only on my device, and EVEDEX does not have access to it.

  • If I do not create a backup of my Seed Phrase and the app is accidentally deleted, my device is lost, or the app needs to be reinstalled, EVEDEX will not be able to recover it.

You must confirm that you have read and understood these warnings. The app will then display your 12-word Seed Phrase.

Save the words in the correct order and tap "I Saved My Seed Phrase." The app will then verify that you have saved it correctly by asking you to select specific words from the Seed Phrase in the correct order.

Only after successfully completing the verification will you gain access to your new wallet and the associated EVEDEX account.

Important: An account created using Create Wallet is not linked to your Email. You can add an email address to receive notifications, but signing in with that email address will not open the account created using the Seed Phrase.

To access this account, you must use the same wallet:

  • import the saved Seed Phrase or Private Key into the app;

  • or import this wallet into MetaMask or another compatible wallet and connect it to EVEDEX.

Import an Existing Wallet

The Import Wallet feature allows you to import an existing wallet into the app using:

  • Seed Phrase;

  • Private Key.

The result depends on whether this wallet has previously been used with EVEDEX.

If the wallet has already been associated with an EVEDEX account, importing it will open the existing account with its balance and trading history.

If the wallet has not previously been used on the platform, a new EVEDEX account associated with the imported wallet will be created.

Importing a wallet does not always restore a previous account. It is important to import the same wallet that was originally associated with that account.

The Same Account Can Be Accessed in Different Ways

The sign-in method may be different, but if the same wallet is ultimately used, the same EVEDEX account will be opened.

Example: Email → Mobile App

The user signs in with Email. The platform automatically creates a wallet for them.

The user then exports the Seed Phrase or Private Key of that wallet and imports it into the mobile app.

Since the same wallet is imported, the same account will be opened in the app.

Example: Email → MetaMask

The user signs in with Email and exports the automatically created wallet.

They then import the Seed Phrase or Private Key into MetaMask and connect MetaMask to EVEDEX.

Even though a different sign-in method is now being used, the same account will be opened because MetaMask contains the same wallet.

Example: Telegram → MetaMask

When the user signs in with Telegram, a wallet is automatically created.

If this wallet is exported, imported into MetaMask, and then MetaMask is connected to the platform, the same EVEDEX account will be opened.

Example: External Wallet → Mobile App

The user previously connected an external wallet to the EVEDEX web platform.

If they later import the Seed Phrase or Private Key of that same wallet into the mobile app, the same account will be opened.

What matters is not the name of the sign-in method you choose, but which wallet is being used.

How to Export an Automatically Created Wallet

If your wallet was automatically created when you signed in with Email, Google, Apple ID, or Telegram, you can export it from the web platform.

To do this, go to:

Settings → Security → Export Wallet
https://exchange.evedex.com/en/settings?tab=security

Then select your preferred export method:

  • Private Key — your private key;

  • Seed Phrase — your Seed Phrase.

After exporting, the wallet can be:

  • imported into the EVEDEX mobile app;

  • imported into MetaMask or another compatible cryptocurrency wallet;

  • used as a backup method to restore access.

Exporting and subsequently importing the wallet does not create a new account, as long as the same wallet is used.

Security Warning: Your Seed Phrase and Private Key provide full access to your wallet. Never share them with EVEDEX employees, customer support representatives, community administrators, or anyone else. EVEDEX will never ask for your Seed Phrase or Private Key.

Why Don't I See My Funds After Signing In?

The most common reason is that you signed in using a different wallet, which opened a different EVEDEX account.

This can happen in the following cases:

  • you created your wallet using Create Wallet, but later signed in with Email;

  • your account was created using Email, but you connected a different MetaMask wallet;

  • you signed in with Google or Apple ID using a different email address;

  • instead of importing an existing wallet, you created a new one;

  • you used a different Telegram account;

  • you imported a different Seed Phrase or Private Key;

  • you connected a different external wallet address.

Example

You created a wallet in the app using Create Wallet and saved the 12-word Seed Phrase. Later, you opened the app and signed in with Email.

Email automatically created a different wallet, so a new account with a zero balance was opened.

To return to your original account, you need to sign out and import the Seed Phrase that was generated when you selected Create Wallet.

Another Example

You first signed in using Email, and the platform automatically created a wallet for you. Later, you selected MetaMask and connected a different wallet.

In this case, a different account will be opened.

To access your original account through MetaMask, you must first export the wallet from the account created via Email, then import it into MetaMask.

How to Check That You Have Opened the Correct Account

To verify that you have opened the correct account, go to the Assets section and compare your current wallet address (or Smart Account address) with the address that you previously used on the platform.

If the addresses are different, it means you have opened a different account.
